There is certainly no shortage of things to do in Whitby and its surrounding area. Sitting right on the edge of the stunning Yorkshire Moors, there's plenty of biking and walking to be done.

Goathland, about 10 minutes drive away, is a picturesque village which makes an ideal starting point for an adventure into the moors. Sheep roam here and there are a couple of country pubs selling hot food. There is also the famous steam train which takes passengers up to pickering. Its station was filmed in the Harry potter films as well!

In Whitby itself, there is a mini-cinema, a boating lake, museums, cafés, bars, shops, bike hire, coastal walks, ferry trips, and more! All these, thank goodness, do not detract from the town character.
